My tier 1 banking client is looking for an experienced strategy professional to lead the planning, development and delivery of specific major strategic IT change initiatives impacting across the bank in the short and long term.

This individual will support and advise IT board members in a consulting capacity to improve the business of IT.

Accountable:

Understanding the business strategy and shape the five year IT strategy to deliver.

To challenge and bring insight to IT Board members in the operational efficiency and effectiveness of their directorates

Ensure an effective overall commercial effectiveness for IT strategy.

Manage project teams to deliver strategies, including in an matrix fashion.

To bring significant industry and best practice expertise to IT, and to build strategic planning capabilities across the department.

To support the personnel development for the Strategy team, including skills, training, recruitment and development.

Skills and Experience:

8-10 years experience leading and developing IT business and technology strategies at major institutions (preferably in financial services) for senior stakeholders, preferably with leading IT strategy consultancies.

Ideally, significant experience working within the top leading consultancies advising blue chips IT strategy.

Significant experience of operating at an executive / director level, building effective relationships and dealing with executive colleagues, and other internal and external clients.

A broad understanding of a business or service environment and awareness of the factors that influence business decisions and strategy.

Ability to take a strategic view and see the “big picture” and adopt an analytical approach to complex change programmes with the awareness of operational implications.

Demonstrate drive and commitment in delivering to challenging targets and ability to work within a team environment.

Display high level of analytical problem solving skills and the ability to assimilate complex information, to facilitate escalation and resolution of issues.

Strong financial, accounting and modelling skills to support development initiatives of robust strategies, including business cases.

Exemplary senior stakeholder engagement and management skills and experience.

Ability to manage conflicting demands of a variety of stakeholders
