My client is looking to appoint an Head of Architecture within their Payments Technology Domain focused on transforming the payments landscape for the next ten years.
The role focuses on Technology, Strategy and Solution for their banking domain and influencing International Payment Systems and policy.
Work with senior stakeholders to define business strategy, for Global Payments and the divisions it supports within the group and within banking industry.
Define the current and future state architectures for the bank on the basis of this strategy, focussing on areas of the architecture in accordance with business needs.
Be a major contributor to key governance forums which set and direct investment priorities, and ensure that investment programmes are delivering in accordance with the strategy and architecture.
Design / Influence payment system models – ISO Payment standards
Develop internal and external relationships and knowledge of the Payments Domain to provide advisory information to the Group regarding Payments trends and direction at the technology and payments scheme level.
Lead decision making on strategic technology choices for key functional capabilities, and establish the architectural definitions which enable these choices to be implemented.
Develop and extend the Global Payments technology stategy to align with rolling business strategy using Transaction Management Hub as a foundation, including the development of new design and delivery processes, testing methodologies. Working closely with other areas across IT to ensure this capability can support the demands across the group and business divisions to ensure the capability can meet the strategic needs.
Develop and maintain Enterprise Architecture, including Global Payments (not cards) roadmaps, which clearly express the target architecture and the investment required to achieve it, in conjuction with Domain Lead Architects.
Produce and maintain the content of the centrally managed architectural frameworks, including process and organisational architectures, ensuring that this content can be used practically to plan, direct and implement change, and maximise the use of efficiency and quaility in architecture solution development.
Lead teams of architects to focus on particular high priority areas for the organisation.
Commission and manage the delivery of work from external partners, to establish architectural definitions in priority areas.
You will have experience of inception to completion of payment system transformation within a large banking enterprise and specifically have a technical understanding of the message broker systems, money laundering and payment end to end system lifecycle. My client is looking for an individual who can bring gravitas to the role within the group and you will be expected to be able to influence UK payments forums as well as International. Ideally you will have experience with the majority of the following: BACS, SWIFT, FASTER PAYMENTS, SEPA, FATCA, AML, Industry Account Switchers, Treasury, Commercial, Mobile and Internet payments.
